Artist Biography
A master of oils & glazing techniques; Female figures and organic fleshy forms are dominant in his more often than not large scale oil paintings. Sensual and alluring, Austin's style has definitive influences from Australian 'greats' as the likes of James Gleeson & Norman Lindsay.
Artist Statement
>Painting for me is about discovery, desire and language. It becomes a catalyst for more ideas and communicates an emotion, or significant concept.
To feel the slide of paint, to make an image alive, to feel the buzz of creation, to see the wonder in the eyes of the viewer...
